The Best Homemade crockpot Potato soup, biscuits and cake

I made this for dinner and it was one of those meals that makes you feel all warm and cosy inside! Please see recipes below. Getting ready to roll out the biscuit dough... Biscuits before they went in to the oven...
Baked....
Recipe for Southern Gal Biscuits. This is my favorite homemade biscuit recipe!
2 cups all-purpose flour(you can use 1/2 whole wheat, or all ww,your choice)
2 TBS white sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
2/3 cups milk
In a bowl,combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cream of tartar, Cut in shortening until mixture resembles fine crumbs, In a small bowl, beat egg and milk; stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; foll to 1/2 in. thickness. Cut with a 2- 1/2 in. biscuit cutter. Bake at 400* for 12-15 min or until golden brown. Yield:about 1 dozen
Homemade potato soup....
Recipe for homemade Potato soup
6 potatoes, peeled and cubed
2 leeks, chopped
2 onions, chopped
1 rib celery, sliced
2 chicken bouillon cubes
1 Tbsp. dried parsley flakes
5 cups of water( I use half chicken broth or stock)
1 Tbsp. salt
pepper to taste
1/3 cup butter
13 oz. can evaporated milk
chopped chives
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients except milk and chives in slow cooker.
2. Cover. Cook on Low 10-12 hours, or High 3-4 hours.
Stir in milk during last hour.
3. Garnish with chives
I made another Sour Cream coffee cake..my kids begged me! Here it is upside down... Right side up....
So good!!
